Maison Qamar Dubai — Luxury Fashion Headless Storefront & Complete Redesign
Complete redesign and headless storefront engineering for a Dubai-based luxury fashion atelier — featuring wishlist, product comparison, Instagram integration, full localization with currency and language selectors, customer dashboard, and mobile-first responsive design across all devices.

The Challenge
A luxury fashion brand demands a storefront that communicates exclusivity and craft at every touchpoint — standard Shopify themes could not deliver the editorial, cinematic quality the brand required. Beyond aesthetics, the international customer base across UAE, Europe, and beyond required genuine multi-market infrastructure: localised pricing, currencies, and languages — not just cosmetic currency switching. Every feature (wishlist, comparison, Instagram feed, customer dashboard) had to be built to feel native and frictionless within a premium experience, not bolted on.
The Solution
A fully headless architecture gave complete design freedom — every component custom-built from scratch to the brand's visual language. Shopify Markets handled the localization infrastructure: geo-detection, market-specific pricing, currency conversion, and language routing. Custom React hooks managed wishlist and comparison state with session persistence. The Instagram Graph API integration keeps the feed section evergreen without CMS maintenance. Mobile-first development ensured the premium experience holds across every device — critical for a luxury brand whose customers shop across phone, tablet, and desktop.

Maison Qamar Dubai is a luxury fashion atelier based in Dubai, offering handcrafted caftans and couture pieces shipped worldwide straight from their atelier. The brand needed a complete redesign — moving away from a standard Shopify theme toward a fully custom, editorial-grade headless storefront that matched their luxury positioning.
Complete Visual Redesign The entire frontend was redesigned from scratch with a mobile-first approach. The aesthetic centres on cinematic full-bleed photography, minimal serif typography, restrained colour palette, and generous white space — communicating craft, exclusivity, and luxury without visual noise. Every component was custom-built to match the brand's elevated identity.
Mobile-First, Cross-Device Responsive The build was approached mobile-first from the first line of CSS. Every layout, interaction, and component was designed and tested across mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints — with particular care on touch interactions, image loading performance, and navigation UX on small screens.
Headless Architecture Built as a fully headless Shopify storefront, the frontend decouples entirely from Shopify's theme engine. All product data, collections, inventory, and customer data flows through the Shopify Storefront API, giving full control over every pixel and interaction while retaining Shopify's robust commerce backend.
Wishlist & Product Comparison A complete wishlist system was implemented, allowing customers to save pieces across sessions — essential for a luxury purchase journey where customers browse over multiple visits before converting. A product comparison feature was also built, enabling side-by-side evaluation of pieces — important for a catalogue where fit, fabric, and detail differentiation matters.
Localization — Currency & Language Selectors Full multi-market localization was implemented using Shopify Markets. The storefront detects the visitor's country and presents a geo-targeted prompt to switch to their local store context (currency, language, pricing). A persistent currency selector and language selector allow manual switching at any point. The geo-detection popup visible in the screenshot — detecting a Netherlands visitor browsing from UAE context — is this system in action.
Instagram Integration The Instagram Graph API was integrated to pull in live feed content, embedding the brand's visual storytelling directly into the storefront experience and keeping product discovery connected to their social presence without manual content updates.
Customer Account Dashboard A fully custom customer dashboard was built within the headless frontend — order history, address book management, saved wishlist items, and account settings, all connected to Shopify's Customer API and rendered within the custom design system.
Navigation & UX Architecture The navigation was redesigned with logical information architecture — structured around the catalogue hierarchy, collection browsing, and brand story — with a clean hamburger menu on mobile, search, wishlist and cart icons always accessible in the header.
